Commercial Vehicle DeliveryVans & Light Commercials, Driven Across Mainland UK
Rapid Vehicle Delivery moves vans and light commercial vehicles across mainland UK, including panel vans, crew cabs, tippers, Lutons and car-derived vans. Suitable roadworthy vehicles are collected from the seller, dealer, depot or auction and driven to the destination on trade plates.
Driven van movements start from £80 + VAT (£96 including VAT), with the route and vehicle class determining the final price.
What Counts as a Commercial Vehicle Here?
The service covers commercial vehicles from small car-derived vans through to suitable vehicles up to 7.5 tonne. That includes panel vans, crew cabs, dropsides, tippers, Lutons, box vans and many specialist light-commercial bodies used by fleets and trades.
7.5 tonne is the ceiling. Rapid Vehicle Delivery is not an HGV operator and does not accept work above that limit. If your vehicle sits between 3.5 and 7.5 tonnes, use the dedicated 7.5 tonne vehicle delivery page because licensing and vehicle information become more important.
For official licence category information, see GOV.UK driving licence categories.
Van Delivery Prices and Cost Per Mile
Van delivery is route-priced rather than using one flat per-mile number for every mile. The distance bands change across longer journeys, so a 300-mile movement is not simply three times the price of a 100-mile movement.
| Vehicle / method | Starting price | Including VAT | How to price |
|---|---|---|---|
| Van / light commercial | £80 + VAT | £96 | Route-specific calculator |
| 7.5 tonne | £140 + VAT | £168 | Route-specific calculator |
| Transported movement | £150 + VAT + £2.50/mile | £180 + mileage VAT | Request a quote |
For a normal driven van movement, enter the two postcodes in the vehicle delivery cost calculator. If the vehicle cannot legally or safely be driven, the transported price needs to be quoted separately.
Commercial Vehicle Movements We Handle
Commercial delivery often has operational detail that does not exist on a private car collection. The vehicle may be carrying equipment, have bodywork fitted, or need to move between working sites rather than homes.
Fleet van movements
Depot-to-depot transfers, driver changeovers and de-fleet movements. See fleet vehicle movements.
Dealer and trade stock
Commercial stock transferred between sites or delivered to a customer using the suitable trade-plate movement method.
Auction purchases
Collection of a van or light commercial from auction where the release information and roadworthiness are known in advance.
Private purchases and sales
Distance purchases where the buyer or seller needs a van moved without making the collection journey personally.
Conversion and bodyshop runs
Movements to or from converters, bodyshops, signwriters, workshops and preparation facilities.
Vehicles approaching 7.5 tonne
Heavier commercials can be considered up to the service ceiling, subject to the correct licence category, condition and vehicle information.
Commercial Vehicles Need a Few Extra Checks
Tell us the gross vehicle weight, whether there is racking, a roof rack or a load fitted, whether signwriting or specialist equipment affects the movement, and the MOT and roadworthiness status. An empty small van is not the same job as a loaded Luton approaching the upper weight limit.
If the vehicle cannot be legally or safely driven, it should not be forced into a trade-plate movement. In that case the job is reviewed for transported delivery.
Commercial Vehicle Delivery Across Mainland UK
Rapid Vehicle Delivery operates from the East Midlands and covers mainland UK for suitable commercial vehicle movements. Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland are not currently covered.
Use Areas We Cover for the coverage structure rather than relying on a different commercial page for every town.
