Auction Collection & DeliveryWon the Lot. We Collect It and Bring It to You.
If you have won a vehicle at auction, the next problem is getting it collected before release deadlines or storage charges become an issue. Rapid Vehicle Delivery collects suitable vehicles from UK auction locations and delivers to homes, businesses and forecourts across mainland UK.
Most roadworthy auction vehicles with the right documents can be handled as driven movements on trade plates. Non-runners, no-MOT vehicles and unroadworthy lots need transported delivery instead.
Auction Collections Move on a Clock
Auction collection is not just a normal pickup with a different address. The vehicle can be sitting behind a release process, gate pass, compound location and a storage-charge deadline. If those details are missed, the movement can become more expensive before the vehicle has moved a mile.
When you enquire, tell us the auction house, lot number and release deadline. That lets us judge the job against the route and existing schedule instead of accepting it first and discovering later that the vehicle cannot be released in time.
If the auction requires specific collection instructions, gate identification or paperwork to travel with the driver, include that information at the start. Clear release information is one of the biggest differences between a smooth auction movement and a wasted collection attempt.
What We Need for an Auction Collection
Because the buyer often has not inspected the vehicle in person, the sale and release information matters more than on a normal private collection.
Auction and release details
Send the auction house, site or compound, lot number, vehicle registration and the release deadline. If a gate pass or collection reference is required, include that too.
Vehicle condition from the listing
Tell us whether the lot is described as a runner, non-runner, spares or repair, damaged, or without a valid MOT. Do not assume trade plates make an unsuitable vehicle drivable.
Delivery information
Provide the full delivery postcode, contact details and any access or timing information for the destination so the movement can be planned end to end.
You can verify the recorded MOT status using the official GOV.UK MOT status checker.
Driven or Transported From Auction?
Auction stock has a higher chance of being a non-runner, damaged or sold without a usable MOT than a normal retail vehicle. Decide the movement method from the listing and condition rather than from price alone.
| Vehicle condition | Driven | Transported |
|---|---|---|
| Runner with valid MOT and roadworthy | Usually suitable | Optional where mileage matters |
| Non-runner / spares or repair | No | Yes |
| No valid MOT | Not as a normal driven movement | Usually required |
| Damaged / unroadworthy | No | Yes |
Driven car movements start from £70 + VAT. Transported movements start from £150 + VAT plus £2.50 per mile. We do not force an unsuitable auction vehicle into the driven process simply because it is cheaper.
Who Uses Auction Collection & Delivery?
The release process is similar, but the destination and handover differ depending on who bought the vehicle.
Trade buyers
Dealers and traders buying stock can have a suitable vehicle collected and delivered directly to the forecourt or preparation site. See trade plate delivery.
Private buyers
If you have bought one vehicle at distance, collection removes the need to take a day out just to travel to the auction and drive the car home yourself.
Fleet and leasing
Fleet operators buying or disposing through auction can include the movement in a wider de-fleet or stock plan. See fleet movements.
Collection From UK Auction Locations
Rapid Vehicle Delivery collects from auction locations across mainland UK and delivers to mainland destinations, subject to release information, route and vehicle suitability. Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland are not currently covered.
See Areas We Cover for the wider coverage structure. For standard driven movements, use the calculator once you know the collection and delivery postcodes.
