What do you need moved?

One vehicle delivery service, several real-world jobs

A vehicle movement can be a private purchase from another city, a dealership transfer, an auction collection or a commercial vehicle that needs to reach another site. The important part is choosing the right delivery method for the vehicle before it moves.

Bought or sold a car?

We can collect from the seller, dealer or auction house and deliver directly to the destination.

Dealer stock to move?

Customer deliveries, part-exchanges, stock transfers and repeat movements can all be handled on contract.

Van or commercial vehicle?

Suitable vans, light commercials and vehicles up to 7.5 tonnes can be delivered by road.

Vehicle cannot be driven?

For non-runners, unroadworthy vehicles or mileage-sensitive cars, we can arrange transported delivery.

Why Rapid Vehicle Delivery

A vehicle delivery business built around inspection, not just transport

Rapid Vehicle Delivery is run by Darryl Bosworth, with 15 years of experience in vehicle inspection and delivery. That background shapes the service: the vehicle is checked before it moves, visible condition is recorded and the correct movement method is chosen before the booking is treated as routine.

Some online delivery platforms work as marketplaces, where jobs may be fulfilled by different third-party drivers or transport providers. Rapid Vehicle Delivery keeps the service focused on vehicle movements, with driven delivery on trade plates at the centre of the operation.

For suitable roadworthy vehicles, driven delivery can be a practical and cost-effective alternative to transported delivery. For vehicles that should not be driven, we arrange transport through established partners instead of forcing the wrong method.

What every movement includes

More than simply driving from A to B

The service is designed around the vehicle itself. Before a driven movement starts, we need to understand the collection point, destination, roadworthiness, MOT status, access and any handover instructions.

Collection window agreed before the job.
Visible condition inspected and recorded.
Roadworthiness and MOT status considered.
Trade plate requirements handled where applicable.
Insurance details confirmed for driven delivery.
Vehicle condition recorded again at handover.

Four clear stages from price to handover

The process stays deliberately simple, whether it is one private car or a repeat trade movement.

Choosing the right method

Driven or transported vehicle delivery?

There is no reason to pay for a transporter when driven car delivery is suitable — and no reason to drive a vehicle that legally or practically belongs on a transporter.

Driven · core service

Driven on trade plates

  • Suitable for roadworthy vehicles with the required MOT status.
  • Adds the journey mileage to the vehicle.
  • Can be quicker and more cost-effective for everyday movements.
  • Car delivery from £70 + VAT (£84 including VAT).
  • Up to £60,000 comprehensive cover on driven deliveries.

Transported · when needed

Delivered on a transporter

  • Suitable for non-runners or unroadworthy vehicles.
  • Useful when preserving mileage matters on classics or low-mileage cars.
  • Required where the vehicle cannot legally be driven.
  • Transported delivery from £150 + VAT plus mileage.
  • Arranged through established transport partners.

Trade plate rules still apply. Trade plates do not make an unroadworthy vehicle legal to drive. For official requirements, see the DVLA trade licence plate guidance.

Who we deliver for

Private customers, dealerships, fleets and auctions

The homepage serves both consumer and trade intent without pretending they are the same job. Each customer type has different priorities, but the movement still needs clear booking information, suitable insurance and an accountable handover.

Private Buyers & Sellers

Bought a car several counties away, sold one to a distant buyer or need a vehicle moved during a relocation? We can collect and deliver between the two addresses.

Dealers & Traders

Customer deliveries, part-exchange collections, stock transfers and repeat trade movements without building the job around transporter load schedules.

Fleet & Leasing

De-fleet collections, driver changeovers, contract movements and regular vehicle logistics for operational fleets.

Auction Buyers

Vehicle collection from an auction house with delivery to a home, business address or forecourt.

Mainland UK coverage

  • Regular longer routes including Scotland and the North East.
  • Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland are not currently covered.
Common questions

Car Delivery Service FAQs

These are the practical questions people usually ask before booking a driven or transported vehicle movement.

Need a price now?Use the vehicle delivery calculator for a route-specific driven-delivery figure.
Complex vehicle? If it has no MOT, does not run or needs transporter delivery, request a quote instead.
01Do you drive the car or transport it?
Around 95% of our work is driven. Suitable roadworthy vehicles are collected and driven on trade plates. When a vehicle cannot or should not be driven, we arrange transported delivery instead.
02Is my vehicle insured during delivery?
Driven deliveries have fully comprehensive insurance cover up to £60,000. The relevant details are confirmed before booking.
03Will driven delivery add mileage?
Yes. A driven movement adds the mileage of the route. If preserving mileage matters, ask for a transported-delivery quote.
04How much does car delivery cost?
Car delivery starts from £70 + VAT (£84 including VAT). Vans start from £80 + VAT and suitable 7.5 tonne vehicles from £140 + VAT. Use the vehicle delivery cost calculator for a route-specific figure.
05Can you deliver a car without an MOT?
A vehicle without a valid MOT generally cannot simply be driven on trade plates unless a specific legal exception applies. If it cannot legally be driven, we quote transported delivery instead.
06How quickly can you collect?
Collection can often be arranged within a day or two and sometimes sooner, depending on location, route planning and availability. We confirm the actual window before booking.
07Do you cover my area?
We cover mainland UK from an East Midlands base. Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland are not currently covered. See Areas We Cover for the current location structure.
08Do you work with dealers and fleet operators?
Yes. Alongside private jobs, Rapid Vehicle Delivery handles repeat movements for dealer and fleet clients. See fleet vehicle movements for regular trade requirements.
