Rapid Vehicle Delivery moves suitable vehicles up to 7.5 tonne across mainland UK, driven where the vehicle is roadworthy, legal and appropriate for the journey. Driven movements in this category start from £140 + VAT (£168 including VAT).
This is the service ceiling. We do not operate above 7.5 tonne and do not present ourselves as an HGV delivery company.
What “7.5 Tonne” Actually Means
The 7.5 tonne figure refers to Maximum Authorised Mass — the vehicle plus the maximum load it is permitted to carry — rather than simply what the vehicle weighs empty on the day. That distinction matters because bodywork, equipment and permitted load can move a vehicle into a different category even when it looks similar to a lighter van.
Vehicles from 3,500kg up to 7,500kg MAM sit in the C1 licence category. The entitlement rules differ depending on when the driver passed the car test and whether the relevant C1 entitlement is held.

7.5 Tonne Vehicles We Can Consider
The category includes more than one body type. Suitability still depends on the actual MAM, condition, roadworthiness and route.
Box vans and heavier Lutons
Vehicles at the heavier end of commercial delivery where the plated weight remains within the 7.5 tonne ceiling.
Rigid trucks within the limit
Rigid commercial vehicles can be considered where they stay within the service ceiling and are suitable for a driven movement.
Tippers and dropsides
Heavier working vehicles above 3.5 tonne but within 7.5 tonne, subject to correct condition and vehicle information.
Horseboxes
Horseboxes can be considered where the plated MAM is within the limit and the vehicle is roadworthy and legal for the planned journey.
Motorhomes and specialist bodies
Larger campers, welfare and utility bodies can fall into the category depending on their plated weight and configuration.
What we do not move
Anything above 7.5 tonne, articulated vehicles, buses and coaches, or plant that cannot legally be driven on the road is outside this service.
Driven Where the Vehicle Allows It
The same rule applies here as on lighter vehicles: the method follows the vehicle. A roadworthy, legal vehicle within the weight limit can be considered for a driven movement. A non-runner, no-MOT vehicle or one that is unsafe should not be forced into that process.
Roadworthy and legal
The vehicle needs to be suitable for the journey. Trade plates are not a substitute for vehicle condition or the driver holding the correct entitlement.
Condition recorded
Vehicles are inspected and their condition recorded before movement, following the same operational approach used on lighter driven deliveries.
Transported when needed
If the vehicle cannot be driven appropriately, the movement needs a different transport solution and often a specialist partner. Tell us the condition before booking.
7.5 Tonne Vehicle Delivery Prices
The driven starting price reflects the heavier vehicle category. The final figure then depends on the route and distance bands used by the calculator.
Driven movements start from £140 + VAT (£168 including VAT). Transported movements start from £150 + VAT plus £2.50 per mile where that method is appropriate and available.

Rapid Vehicle Delivery is based in the East Midlands and handles suitable movements across mainland UK. Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland are not currently covered.
